Pretty Pyrex. :)

I've been slacking on the blog, but I still love Pyrex. I've been collecting still and I've had a couple friends give me some GREAT pieces. Today We thought it'd be nice to eat some oranges. Orange and blue... LOVE it!!

My broken find....

My first Pyrex tragedy.... :( I had my wonderful butter dish on the top of my shelves while I was cleaning up the dining room the other day and while I was scooting a chair in, the vibrations of the chair rumbled the cabinet and the poor thing fell to the floor and shattered into a million little pieces. I was sad, but the good thing about it is the lid is still intact, so I just need to find a new base. Still, it's hard to see something to useful broken.

14 miles find

This morning I ventured out to run 14 miles. I did it, it took me 2 hours and 49 minutes, but I did it. :) My reward? Pyrex! :) I found a couple cups and two bowls. This yellow cup I've been eyeballing for a while at Thrift Town, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to get it cause it wasn't labeled "Pyrex" it was just Corning. But, I said screw it, I like the cup....who cares if it's not "Pyrex". It looks like it. Plus, It'll make an awesome hot chocolate mug this winter. Mmmmm.... hot cocoa. I can't wait for the weather to cool down more.

Lotsa new finds!

I was in need of a good Pyrex fix yesterday, so I loaded up the kids and went to the nearest DI. I was so lucky to find these! $8.50 for all of it (all in perfect condition), not too shabby. :)

I was SOOO excited to see this one. It's in PERFECT condition! No scratches, totally shiny... LOVE it! It's a smaller bowl, I used it for salad last night. :)

I thought these cups were a little interesting. There were 3 cups and they look exactly alike, but 2 of them say Corning and only 1 says Pyrex. I wonder why?
I don't normally do the clear Pyrex, but I've seen a couple nice bowls and things with this blue tint to it and it has the little ripples, so I picked this one up. It was only $1.50 and it's a good size too.
My second plate. It's a little bigger than the other one. I really like these plates. They're so heavy duty. I wish I could find more of them.

It was just what I needed finding these. They're so pretty!

A BBQ with my Pyrex finds.

Yesterday we had a BBQ with the family. It was SO much fun! The great thing about having Pyrex is all the bowls and things you can use for such an occasion. :) We used it to hold the veggies before they were grilled.... Doesn't the chicken just look amazing?? Yeah, my hubby's an awesome BBQer.
Then I used a divided dish and bowl to hold my apples and strawberries that went along with this awesome dip. It's such a GREAT dip. Super simple too.

I just LOVE using my Pyrex!!!

Square Pyrex Find

I found this at a quick stop at DI the other day. My 2nd pink piece. It's a little beat up (You can't really tell in the picture.) I wish there was a way to paint back on the shine on these things. I've tried the whole rubbing oil on it thing, but it doesn't stay on forever and it leaves finger prints. Oh, well... one day I'll figure it out.

English Pyrex Find

I found these two casseroles at DI today. I wasn't too sure if they were Pyrex at first, but I checked the bottom (of course...) and it said Pyrex ENGLAND! Cool! My first international Pyrex. :) The big one has a little nick on the handle, but that's ok.

The pattern is called Country Autumn.... Hummm... I will have to make a YUMMY autumn dish in it. Maybe something with pumpkin. Mmmm... pumpkin!

I also saw another red bowl that was really damaged. When, oh, when will I ever find a nice red bowl? One day....
